Al-Sadr announces the freezing of his armed factions in all governorates except Salah al-Din

From Al-Madina News: Muqtada al-Sadr, the head of the Sadrist movement in Iraq, declared today, Thursday, that all of his armed factions, including the Peace Brigades, will be put on hold in all provinces with the exception of Salah al-Din.

Muqtada al-Sadr was quoted by Al-Sadr Minister Salih Muhammad al-Iraqi as having said: “We announce the freezing of all armed factions, if any, including (the Peace Brigades), and banning the use of weapons in all provinces, with the exception of Salah al-Din (Samarra and its environs) or according to the directives and orders of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed

In his statement today, the head of the Sadrist movement suggested that the commander of the Iraqi military forces “restrain” Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq and its ilk and warn against taking “further actions later” in the event that this suggestion is not carried out.
He continued by saying that the decision to freeze was made to “avoid conflict in the province of Basra.
