18 people were killed in an armed attack in Mexico

In an armed attack on Wednesday in Tutulaban, in the state of Guerrero (south), at least 18 people were slain, including the mayor, according to the police.
18 persons were killed and 2 injured in the incident, according to a broadcast announcement by Milino Prosecutor Sandra Luz Valdovinos.
According to reports, big vehicles briefly blocked a highway in the state of Guerrero, where San Miguel Tutulapan is situated, to stop security personnel from entering the city.

According to the BBC, several organisations are battling for control of the lucrative drug routes that run along the Pacific Corridor in the north.
Guerrero’s attorney general stated that in addition to the 18 fatalities, three more individuals had been hurt in an initial report viewed by local media.

Following the incident, the Ministry of National Defense announced that army and navy personnel were being sent to the area to hunt out the militants.
