Authorities in Mexico said that gunmen killed a mayor, his father, and 16 other people on Wednesday in the southern state of Guerrero.
According to Milenio TV, state prosecutor Sandra Luz Valdovinos reported that the municipality of San Miguel Tutulapan had seen 18 fatalities and two injuries.
Pictures taken on the site showed that the municipal hall was shot to pieces.
