Zelensky: We have taken back towns in Kherson… and the counter-attack continues

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky declared that his country’s troops had retaken three villages from Russian soldiers in the southern Kherson area.
Additionally, he stated that “Novovoskresensky, Novogrigorievka, and Petropavlevka (…) have been liberated in the previous 24 hours” in a video clip that was “ongoing” on social networking sites on Wednesday night.

In the same vein, the regional military commander of the eastern Ukrainian province of Lugansk announced on Wednesday that his nation’s forces had seized six Russian-controlled villages and towns.

Sergei Haiday, the head of the administration, was quoted by the Ukrainian news agency as saying that it was not possible to reveal the names of these areas because “as soon as we reveal their names, the occupying Russian forces begin to intensify their bombardment of those villages and small towns.”
They even destroy the remaining infrastructure, he continued. The pattern is obvious. It was Lugansk’s turn after Lyman was freed.

He predicted that Thursday morning would likely see the announcement of the names of the freed towns and villages.
At a time when Russian soldiers are battling to maintain control over the new territory acquired by Moscow in defiance of international law, this occurred as Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the final documents on Wednesday to annex four regions in Ukraine.
On the website of the Russian government, the final annexation documents were made available.

The Kremlin has taken a risk by leaving open the possibility of annexing additional Ukrainian land.
It is interesting to note that Ukraine announced a breach on Tuesday in the northern part of the Kherson region in the south, even though it now seems that almost the entire Kharkiv region (northeast) is under Ukrainian control, opening the way for Lugansk, the stronghold of separatists who have been supporting Moscow since 2014.

The Russian army, for its part, claimed Wednesday that it had conducted “heavy strikes” over the previous 24 hours close to Lyman in the Donetsk region, a town that had just been taken over by Ukrainian forces.
He said, “Maintaining their positions and repelling the attacks of numerically superior enemy forces,” the Russian forces in the Kherson region.

Zelensky: We have recaptured Kherson towns, and the counterattack is ongoing.
