Yemeni Presidential Council: We will respond firmly against any Houthi escalation

A member of the Presidential Leadership Council named Aidarous Al-Zubaidi cautioned the Houthi group against making any unwise military decisions in the near future.
Al-Zubaidi declared, today, Thursday, in a meeting with Ahmed Farouk, the Egyptian ambassador to Yemen, that any military escalation by the Houthis would be met with severe and firm retaliation.

He continued by saying that the Houthi group’s tactics at political blackmail, which they use to try to win more benefits, are unacceptable and need to end right away.

Against what he called the Houthis’ “hostile behaviour” against the ongoing peace efforts, which are being directed by the United Nations in conjunction with regional and international peace mediators, the member of the Presidential Council emphasised the necessity for a united and firm international stance.

He made it apparent that all measures and attempts to bring about peace in Yemen were thwarted by ongoing Houthi resistance, even though the Presidential Leadership Council was willing to make any compromises necessary to ensure their success and put an end to this lengthy conflict.
Al-Zubaidi lauded the substantial help that the Egyptian government has given to the Yemeni government and people in a number of areas.

He emphasised the significance of maintaining and bolstering this assistance, particularly in the logistical, security, and military aspects, as well as the fields of rehabilitation and training, in order to help the Yemeni government improve its performance and deal with the various crises the nation is currently experiencing.

Yemeni Presidential Council: If the Houthis escalate their behaviour, we will retaliate vehemently.
