Benjamin Netanyahu, the leader of Israel’s main opposition Likud party and a former prime minister, was reportedly brought to a hospital in Jerusalem on Wednesday night, according to the Israeli “Kan” station. Netanyahu was receiving testing at a Jerusalem hospital after feeling ill during Yom Kippur prayers, according to the former prime minister’s press secretary.
According to polls, Netanyahu is one of the leading candidates for the position of prime minister following the early legislative elections slated for November 1. Netanyahu served as the leader of the Israeli government from 2010 to 2021.
The current prime minister, Yair Lapid Bayan, “wishes Benjamin Netanyahu a swift and complete recovery,” according to a statement released by the Yesh Atid party press office.
The former Israeli Prime Minister was urgently taken to the hospital by “Netanyahu.”
