According to a report from Azerbaijan’s Trend News Agency on Wednesday, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will likely meet with French President Emmanuel Macron, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and European Council President Charles Michel in Prague.
According to Trend, the gathering will take place on October 7 in conjunction with the European Political Group summit.

According to reports, on September 27, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan spoke by phone with President Emmanuel Macron of France about the recent tensions on the country’s border with Armenia.
The recent border battles between Azerbaijan and Armenia were reviewed, as well as the possibility of beginning peace negotiations between Baku and Yerevan.

Notably, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry has previously charged Armenian forces with committing “large-scale acts of sabotage” close to the border regions of Dasheksan, Kalpajar, and Lachin, claiming that its army positions “were shelled, mainly with mortars.”

In Prague, the president of Azerbaijan will meet with the presidents of France, Armenia, and the European Council.
