Qatar plans to become the largest LNG trader in the world

Saad Al-Kaabi, the CEO of “Qatar Energy,” declared today, Wednesday, that his company intends to overtake all other liquefied natural gas traders in the globe during the next five to ten years.
At the Energy Intelligence Forum in London, Al-Kaabi, who is also the minister of state for energy affairs, stated that his nation is now selling 5 to 10 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas.

According to “Reuters,” a Qatari official stated that we will overtake all other countries as the world’s largest dealer (exporter) of liquefied natural gas within the next five to ten years.
At a time when Europe is looking for alternatives to Russian flows, Al-Kaabi continued during his address that the Qatari North Field development project will strengthen Qatar’s position as the world’s largest exporter of liquefied natural gas and help it assure long-term supplies to Europe.

According to him, the North Field development plan will raise Qatar’s annual gas liquefaction capacity from 77 million tonnes to 126 million tonnes by 2027.
