Online voting for Kingston, Ont. municipal election gets underway Oct. 5

In Kingston, Ontario, voters may start casting ballots online as of this Wednesday and may continue doing so up until election day on October 24. This enables voters to take part in the discussion as contenders make their case for your support.
On the city website, you may see the status of your registration. You must be a registered voter in order to cast a ballot either in person or online.
Just your name and address are required to register online. You may also register by phone or in person at the municipal building.

According to City of Kingston Assistant Returning Officer Janet Jaynes, “Anybody that comes down in person with their identification, we can process their information on the spot and issue them with their voter information notice.”
It is not as strict to need a photo ID like a driver’s licence while registering to vote or casting a ballot in person.
According to Jaynes, “It might be a utility bill with your name and address on it or a cancelled check with your name and address on it.”

The city’s website contains a comprehensive list of approved forms of identification.
The Rideau Heights Community Centre, Kingston East Community Centre, Portsmouth Olympic Harbour, Invista Centre, Isabel Turner Library, and Central Library will all have in-person early voting locations from October 18 to 22.
Depending on the day you select, the advance voting stations’ operating hours change.

Any voter in the city of Kingston is able to cast their ballot at any one of the six places because the polling stations are “vote anywhere.”
You must cast your ballot in your district on election day, which is a new requirement for the 2022 municipal election in Kingston.

Every voting location will have accessible voting technology on advance days and on election day, and on Saturday, October 22, there will be an interpreter who speaks American Sign Language at the Invista Centre voting location.
Your voter information notice will gain you a free ride on Kingston Transit or a Kingston Access Bus to your polling place on election day and advance voting days, albeit a Kingston Access Bus must be reserved in advance.

Beginning on October 5 is online voting for the municipal election in Kingston, Ontario.
