The owner of the gas pipeline “Nord Stream” is anticipated to quickly file a fresh application for a permit to repair the offshore pipeline to Denmark and Sweden, according to a report on Sweden’s official radio. The sources of this information were not identified by the radio.
Additionally, Radio Sweden was cited by the news agency “Bloomberg” today, Wednesday, as indicating that additional permits may be needed for major pipeline repairs and part replacements.
Magdalena Andersson, the prime minister of Sweden, declined to comment on what was said by Radio Sweden.
The Nord Stream gas pipeline is controlled by the sanctioned Russian energy behemoth Gazprom, which makes issues more complicated.
Sanctions are not imposed on the gas lines company directly.
