More than 40 European leaders gather in Prague to discuss security and energy issues

For the European Political Community’s inaugural meeting on Thursday in Prague, more than 40 leaders from around Europe are anticipated.
The new forum’s mission is to strengthen collaboration between European nations outside the European Union’s boundaries, including Turkey, Britain, the Western Balkans, and the Caucasus.
Denis Shmyhal, the prime minister of Ukraine, is slated to attend in person, and Volodymyr Zelensky, the president, is scheduled to participate through video link.

The leaders will hold roundtable discussions on issues like climate change, the energy crisis, and Russia’s military campaign in Ukraine in addition to general economic issues.
Bilateral meetings will be held after the discussions.
According to a statement from the Foreign Office, British Prime Minister Liz Terrace will address immigration with the presidents of France and the Netherlands.

Diplomatic efforts are continuing to enable a meeting between the two since officials of both Armenia and Azerbaijan are anticipated to participate, an EU official told reporters in Brussels.
The 27 EU member states will meet informally on Friday in Prague.
