Iran: 5.4-magnitude earthquake injures dozens and damages 200 homes

According to the Tasnim news agency, an earthquake that struck Khoy city in Iran’s West Azerbaijan region resulted in more than 270 injuries and the destruction of hundreds of buildings.
Early this morning, the “Volcano Discovery” website reported that the earthquake’s epicentre was 12 kilometres to the east of Khoi, at a depth of 10 kilometres.
Official statistics show that there were no fatalities as a result of the earthquake. The majority of injuries happened when people were leaving their houses.

There were also fissures in around 200 houses.
Iran experienced powerful earthquakes in June and July of last year, which caused many fatalities and numerous injuries.
Additionally, an earthquake in June killed over a thousand individuals in nearby Afghanistan.
