In response to Pyongyang, the crash of a South Korean ballistic missile causes panic

In retaliation for North Korea’s ballistic missile launch over Japan, Seoul and Washington said on Wednesday that they had fired a salvo of missiles into the ocean.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff of South Korea stated on Wednesday that both South Korean and US military had carried out their own missile drills.
According to a statement, two Atakams short-range ballistic missiles developed in the US were fired by each side.

Separately, the South Korean military stated that the country’s “Hyunmu-2” missile crashed shortly after launch but did not result in any injuries.
According to officials, a failed ballistic missile launch that crashed to the ground and started a huge fire in a normally calm South Korean city prompted fear.
The missile’s propellant burned but its warhead did not explode, a South Korean military official told the country’s official news agency, “Yonhap,” in Seoul.

A ball of orange flame appeared in images shared on social media, though AFP was unable to confirm their veracity. Network pioneers claimed to have seen it close to the Gangneung Air Base on the nation’s east coast.
For the first time in five years, North Korea launched a medium-range ballistic missile earlier on Tuesday, travelling farther than ever before as it passed over Japan.

The North Korean-launched ballistic missile, according to the Japanese broadcaster, passed over Japanese territory. It did so over the northeastern prefecture of Aomori and the main island of Hokkaido, where the government had advised residents to seek refuge inside of structures.
A North Korean missile last passed over Japan in 2017.

According to John Kirby, a spokesman for the US National Security Council, in an interview with CNN, these drills are meant to “ensure that our military capabilities are ready to respond to northern provocations if necessary.”
It shouldn’t go that far, he continued. Kim Jong Un was made aware that we are prepared to engage in negotiations with no demands made of us. We favour a nuclear-weapons-free Korean Peninsula.

The North Korean leader, Kirby bemoaned, “has not shown an appetite to move in that direction – and quite simply, he is moving in the opposite direction by continuing to conduct these missile launches that are in defiance of UN Security Council resolutions.
Meanwhile, the world condemned Pyongyang’s most far-reaching missile test to far.
