An explosion happened on Wednesday at a mosque in Kabul close to the tightly guarded Interior Ministry building, according to Abdul Nafeh Thakur, a spokesman for the Taliban’s interior ministry.
According to Reuters, Thakur added, “The mosque is occasionally attended by worshipers and staff of the Ministry of Interior.”
Officials made no statements about the explosion’s cause or the number of casualties it caused.
Near Kabul International Airport, the Ministry of Interior facility is situated in a safe neighbourhood.
