EU approves new sanctions against Russia

On Wednesday, the European Union agreed fresh sanctions against Russia, including a price ceiling on its refined goods and crude oil.
According to the European “Euronews” network, the decision was made in direct response to Russia’s annexation of four regions of Ukraine, and the new sanctions include a new export and import ban as well as a completely new provision that prohibits citizens of the European Union from serving on the boards of directors of state-owned companies in Russia.

Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, ratified the Donetsk and Lugansk republics’ and the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions’ agreements to join the Russian Federation earlier today, on Wednesday.

New sanctions on Russia are approved by the EU.
