Earthquake hits borders of Iran, Azerbaijan and Armenia

A 5. 5 on the Richter scale earthquake, according to “Reuters,” occurred close to the region where Iran, Azerbaijan, and Armenia share a border.
The US Geological Survey, however, assessed that the earthquake’s magnitude was 5.
The epicentre of the earthquake, according to the US agency, was in West Azerbaijan Province, northwest of Iran.
The official reported that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 km and 11. 6 miles from Khoy.

There were no recent reports of losses or casualties.
Early in September, a 5. 5-magnitude earthquake with a 10 km depth struck a region of southern Iran.
In southern Iran, three earthquakes with magnitudes greater than 6 occurred in July of last year, killing 5 people and injuring scores more.
In the province of Hormozgan, the majority of the homes in the village of Sayeh Khosh were destroyed by one of these earthquakes.

Iran is where numerous significant geological fault lines connect, and during the past few years, there have been several severe earthquakes there.
