Chelsea lure AC Milan into a fiery Champions League summit

Chelsea will play AC Milan in the third round of Group E of the Champions League for the current season 2022-2023 today, Wednesday, at 9:00 p.m. at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea, the landowner and public, enters today’s match in fourth and last place in the table of the fifth group standings after earning one point from a draw, a loss, a goal scored, and two goals scored.
Milan has 4 points from a win, a draw, four goals, and two goals, placing them first in Group E.

After their dismal showings in the first and second rounds of the continental tournament, the Blues are hoping to win and bounce back in the race to qualify for the next round of the Champions League for the current season.
In the first round, Chelsea overcame Dinamo Zagreb 1-0 before tying with Austrian Red Salzburg in the second.

While Milan enters the game hoping to defeat Chelsea and eliminate their chances of qualifying for the fifth group, they also seek to capitalise on the team’s inconsistent performance thus far in the competition.

The return of Belgian striker Divock Origi, a former Liverpool player, to training and recovery from the injury he sustained a few weeks after the start of the current season, gave Milan a significant boost a few days before the game. Coach Stefano Pioli hopes to utilise the player’s services, particularly in British stadiums.

Theo Hernandez is not on the team since he is still recovering from his injury, which prevented him from participating in previous Italian League and European Champions games.
Each of Milan and Chelsea’s five prior matchups at the European Championships ended with a victory, and the tie was broken after three of those matches.
Milan defeated the London team by scoring five goals while also giving up five.

The following formation is predicted for Chelsea to use at the outset of the game.
Kepa, the goalkeeper.
James, Fofana, Thiago Silva, and Chilwell make up the defence line.
Jorginho, Kovacic, and Mason Mount in the middle.
Forwards: Havartz, Aubameyang, and Sterling.
Milan is anticipated to begin with the following lineup:
: Ciprien Tataroshanu, the goalkeeper.
Davide Calabria, Simon Kjeer, Fikayo Tomori, and Fodi Palo Toure make up the defence line.

Ismael Bennacer, Sandro Tonali, Alexis Salemcris, Charles de Kitlari, and Rafael Liao make up the midfield.
Olivier Giroud, a forward.

AC Milan is drawn into a heated Champions League summit by Chelsea.
