Kirillo Shevchenko, the governor of the Central Bank of Ukraine, abruptly presented his resignation to President Volodymyr Zelensky, claiming health issues.
“I made a tough decision due to health difficulties that can no longer be disregarded,” Shevchenko, 49, said in a statement released by the National Bank of Ukraine on Tuesday night.
He continued, “I thank the President of Ukraine for the faith he has shown in me and the work we were able to do together both before and during the war.
