Canada’s gas price average slips to $1.61 per litre: CAA

On Wednesday, there were rumblings of a 10-cent increase, and drivers throughout Canada were preparing for a significant increase in gas prices.
However, as of 4 a.m., the national average price of gas dropped from $1. 64 per litre to $1. 61, according to the CAA’s gas price tracker.
However, prices in oil-rich Alberta increased slightly, from $1. 58 to $1. 59 per litre.
While Toronto saw a movement of less than half a penny, Ontario prices were on average two cents lower than the day before.

Gas prices in Thunder Bay, which are located further north, decreased significantly yesterday, from an average of $1. 89 per litre to $1. 80 this morning.
With a provincial average of $2.24 per litre, British Columbia continues to have the highest advertised price for filling up, while Vancouver set the high bar at $2.36 per litre.
