The European Parliament declared that it would send a draught resolution to the UN calling for a global probe into the abuses committed by the Iranian government.
According to a correspondent for Al-Arabiya/Al-Hadath, the draught resolution will demand that the UN set up a global investigation and accountability system for the Iranian government’s crimes.
He also made reference to the Iranian government’s demand that an impartial committee be appointed to look into the strange death of Mahsa Amini, a Kurdish girl, who was detained by the Iranian “moral police” and slain a few weeks ago.
The resolution, a copy of which Al-Arabiya/Al-Hadath received, sharply denounced the limitations that specifically target Iranian women.
Parallel to this, the draught resolution of the European Parliament made it plain that petitions for the release of European citizens held in Iran had not made any headway.
