Ukraine to join bid for 2030 World Cup – report

Reuters, October 3 – According to a Monday article in The Times, Ukraine will join Spain and Portugal in their quest to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
According to the idea, which is said to have received the approval of the governments of Spain and Portugal as well as Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelenskiy, one of the groups in the tournament would be hosted by Ukraine, The Times reported.

Soccer officials from Spain and Portugal are expected to make the announcement of the new alliance on Wednesday during a press conference held at the offices of UEFA, the European soccer governing organisation.
FIFA, which oversees the World Cup and is the sport’s global governing body, and UEFA have been approached by Reuters for comment.
The 2026 World Cup will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, whereas the 2022 World Cup will get underway in Qatar on November 20.
