The US State Department warns Iran of the consequences of continuing to oppress its people

Samuel Roberge, the regional spokesman for the US State Department, reaffirmed his nation’s total rejection of Tehran’s use of excessive force against Iranian protesters, denouncing the murder of Mahsa Amini while she was being held by the morality police for allegedly breaking the nation’s strict dress code, while also issuing a warning about the repercussions of Iran’s continued oppression of its people.

In an exclusive statement to Al-Arabiya Al-Hadath news channel today (Monday), Roberge noted that Washington has imposed sanctions on the moral police in addition to intercepting all communications. “The United States has many other tools besides sanctions to support the Iranian people,” Roberge said. It declares that it is accountable for all current occurrences in Iran.

About 200 students gathered at the campus on Sunday night and yelled anti-government slogans, including “Women. Life. Freedom. Students choose death than humiliation,” which led the security forces to use tear gas to disperse the crowd.
The protests in Iran are now in their third week following the passing of 22-year-old Amini, who died after being detained by the morality police for allegedly breaking the strict dress code of the nation.

It is noteworthy that the United States of America, the European Union, and the United Nations all strongly condemned Amini’s death. Although the Iranian authorities claim she passed away from a heart attack and wasn’t mistreated, her family cast doubt on this claim.

Iran is cautioned by the US State Department about the repercussions of continuing to persecute its people.
