The Ministry of Oil updates its “five-year” strategy policies and plans to maximize the added value of oil and gas

In order to maximise the added value of oil and gas in Kuwait, achieve sustainable development, and protect the national wealth for future generations, the Ministry of Oil has announced updating its new strategy for the next five years to include an integrated system for working within the ministry’s sectors and programmes.

In a press release issued today, Nimr Fahad Al-Malik Al-Sabah stated that the ministry’s work team has started to design the new oil strategy, which is in line with the national objectives and directions outlined in the (New Kuwait 2035) vision.
The strategy, according to him, “aims to expedite the digital transformation, anticipate possibilities and difficulties in all ministry sectors, as well as making proactive long-term plans at all levels to accomplish qualitative results.

“The strategy will focus on developing a set of core values at work to enhance integrity, transparency, creativity, innovation, cooperation, partnership, and sustainability, and contribute to improving Kuwait’s position on the global energy map, through developing and managing efficient policies and regulations for the oil and gas sector that address present and upcoming challenges, said the official.

In order to assure the development of the state’s resources, raise its national revenue, and maintain the safety of employees, the environment, and facilities, he explained that the ministry’s objective is to preserve, exploit, and develop the petroleum treasure in accordance with the best methods.

The committee was formed under the chairmanship of the Ministry’s Undersecretary, and its members include Assistant Undersecretaries for Administrative and Financial Affairs and Information Systems Fadel Sayed Ali, Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Affairs Khaled Al-Din, and Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Economic Affairs Eid Al-Mutairi. He continued that (Oil) has formed a planning committee that is in charge of updating its strategy.

He noted that the committee also consists of Sheikha Tamader Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Director of the Public Relations Department, Abdullah Al-Dhafiri, Director of the Minister’s Office, Manal Al-Wahib, Director of the Administrative Affairs Department, Nadia Al-Attar, Director of the Financial Affairs Department, Ahmed Al-Issa, and Director of the Information Systems.
