Including children..the death toll from Iran protests rises to 154

According to a study released by an Iranian human rights organisation on Tuesday, 154 people have died as a result of the country’s protests.
Due to the murder of the young woman, Mahsa Amini, after her arrest, the Iranian Human Rights Organization reported today that at least 154 people, including children, have been slain in the country’s rallies since last month.

The group also stated through its Twitter account that at least 63 people have now been verified dead as a result of the recent violent episodes in Zahedan, the capital of Sistan and Baluchestan Province, in the southeast of the nation.
It is interesting to note that Mahsa Amini, a native of the Kurdish city of Saqqaz in northwest Iran, passed away on September 16 (2022), three days after being detained by the morality police and taken to a Tehran hospital.

Since her passing, the country has become incensed about a number of concerns, including personal freedom restrictions and rigid dress codes for women, as well as the living and economic conditions of Iranians, not to mention the rigid norms imposed by the regime and its political system as a whole. Women took a significant role in those demonstrations, and demonstrators waved and torched their headscarves.

The protests that have taken over dozens of cities over the past few weeks, which continue to involve people from all races and socioeconomic classes, are the largest since the 2019 fuel price protests, during which 1,500 people were reportedly killed in crackdowns against the protesters, according to Reuters.

The number of those killed in Iran protests has risen to 154, including children.
