Despite the current crisis, the largest German energy company announces its intention to abandon coal by 2030

As Germany works to lessen its reliance on fossil fuels, the German energy major RWE said on Tuesday that it would stop producing coal electricity in 2030.
The only way to protect the country’s climate, according to President Markus Kreiber, is to phase out coal.
Added he, “We are doing a terrific job in this area, as best we can. In 2030, coal power production will come to an end.”
