Ancelotti refuses to blame Benzema after missing penalty

In the seventh stage of the Spanish League on Sunday night, Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti refrained to condemn Karim Benzema for missing a penalty kick opportunity to score in the 1-1 draw with his guest Osasuna.
Real Madrid lost by two points for the first time this year after winning its previous six league games in a row.

Real Madrid did not play at its typical level on Sunday despite the return of Benzema after a three-week injury hiatus.
Vinicius Junior’s goal for Real gave them the lead in the 42nd minute, but Enrique Garcia Kiki for Osasuna equalised in the 50th.

Karim typically scores, the match was not wonderful, but after the goal we received, the team played as necessary, according to Ancelotti, who refused to blame Benzema for the outcome of the match and insisted that Real’s performance was not poor.
Karim has no trouble getting the game going for the full 90 minutes, he said. By playing, he should be able to return to his peak performance. This mishap is spherical and happens occasionally.

We had a sound defence, struck a solid balance, and effectively thwarted counterattacks. When Real Madrid was awarded a penalty kick in the 78th minute after David Garcia of Osasuna was dismissed from the game, Karim Benzema had the chance to win the game for Real Madrid and make it seven wins in a row, but he hit the crossbar instead.

In this year’s meeting between the two teams on April 20 in the thirty-third stage of the league, Benzema missed three penalties while Osasuna missed the scoring from two penalties. Real Madrid increased their total to 19 points, moving them into second position with a goal differential only behind arch-rivals Barcelona, who defeated Real Mallorca 1–0 on Saturday.
