UN ship transports Ukrainian wheat to Somalia

The United Nations World Food Program’s fifth ship, which has been chartered by the Ukrainian government, has arrived at the Black Sea port of Chornomorsk, where it will deliver a consignment of Ukrainian wheat to Somalia, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Infrastructure.
According to Reuters, Ukraine has already sent wheat as part of the feeding programme to Ethiopia, Yemen, and Afghanistan.
Five total.

According to a deal mediated by the UN, 8 million tonnes of agricultural products have already departed Ukrainian ports, the ministry reported.
Included in this are the roughly 114,700 tonnes that sailed away from the nation’s Black Sea ports on eight ships on Sunday.
Since the war began, Ukraine’s grain exports have decreased as a result of the closure of its ports on the Black Sea, a crucial shipping route. This has increased the price of food globally and stoked concerns about supply shortages in Africa and the Middle East.

A deal between Moscow and Kiev, negotiated by the UN and Turkey, saw the opening of three ports on the Black Sea at the end of July.
