Source: The withdrawal of gas from storage facilities in the European Union exceeds pumping for the first time this season

According to EU data for gas infrastructure operators, gas withdrawals from EU storage facilities have surpassed their pumping to them for the first time since the end of the previous heating season.
The gas storage facilities of the European Union were 87. 83 percent filled at the end of the gas day on September 30 (which concluded at 07:00 Moscow time on October 1). Since September 25, gas pumping prices have been progressively dropping.

For comparison, the average rate of gas injection into the European Union in September was 0. 25 percentage point, while this indicator was 0. 37 percentage point a month ago.
The rate of gas injection to European storage facilities is falling for the sixth day in a row, falling to -0. 51 percentage points per day, the minimum for 6 months. This is due to the fact that the only storage facility in Belgium was emptied (-92. 09 percentage points).

There are currently roughly 95.3 billion cubic metres of gas in storage facilities in the European Union, which have a capacity of about 110 billion cubic metres. By the first of November, 13 of the 18 EU nations possessing gas storage facilities had met and even surpassed their goal of filling these facilities to 80% capacity. Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Portugal, Croatia, Denmark, and Sweden were the only three of these 13 nations to fill their storage facilities to 90% capacity.

With facilities currently filling up 52,54%, Latvia is still the nation that is the furthest from achieving this goal.

For the first time this season, gas pumping in the European Union is outpaced by gas removal from storage facilities.
