Affecting food .. Russia deals a new blow to the European Union

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a directive on Saturday prohibiting enterprises from nations that have imposed similar restrictions on Russia from carrying their goods by road.

According to a decree issued by the Russian government, firms from the European Union, Norway, the Ukraine, and the United Kingdom will not be permitted to transport goods through Russia by road due to the limitations placed on Russian truck drivers by these nations as a result of the sanctions placed on Moscow earlier this year.

The restriction is stated to apply to both bilateral and transit products as well as the transportation of goods into and out of the territory of a third nation, and it will go into effect on October 10 and stay in effect until December 31, 2022.
The restriction will not apply to meat, fish, milk, several types of vegetables, sweets, and cocoa, among other commodities, including different types of food, manufactured goods, and some non-food items.

Additionally excluded from the ruling are some grain goods, as well as alcohol, cigarettes, fertilisers, pharmaceuticals, contraceptives, paper and cardboard, live animals and plants, timepieces, musical instruments, nuclear reactors, and video and audio recording equipment.

Russia deals the European Union a new setback in the food sector.
