Zelensky: The fight is still going on in Lyman

After Kyiv formally declared its recovery from Russian forces and the Russian army acknowledged the evacuation of its soldiers from the significant town of “Liman” in Donetsk, eastern Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky revealed on Saturday that fighting is still going on there.
Zelensky stated in a televised message tonight that the Ukrainian flag has already been raised in Lyman, Donetsk area.
He went back and emphasised that the combat was still occurring there despite this.

These changes followed the Russian Ministry of Defense’s declaration on Saturday morning announcing that its personnel had left the city for army-related locations.
The Ukrainian Defense Ministry, on the other hand, had acknowledged that its men had “entered that town, which is a key railway junction in the east of the country.”
She posted on Twitter, “Air attack forces enter Lyman, Donetsk region.”

The town in the Donetsk area, which Russia annexed on Friday, was the target of a prior announcement by the Ukrainian army that it was “besieging” thousands of Russian forces there.
According to him, there are between 5,000 and 5,500 Russian forces besieged, though the number may have dropped owing to the deaths of the soldiers who made an attempt to flee.

Additionally, he emphasised that Lyman’s restoration will enable Kiev to push to the Lugansk region, which Moscow declared fully under its control at the beginning of July after a gradual march and weeks of bombing. He emphasised how crucial it is to subdue Lyman since doing so opens the door to liberate the Donbass and moving past Kremena and Severodonetsk.

It is noteworthy that Russia would suffer a significant loss if it were to gain control of this town, particularly after Vladimir Putin, the country’s president, announced the annexation of the Donetsk area together with three other regions yesterday during a huge celebration in Moscow.

The loss of Lyman will mark Ukraine’s largest field victory since its lightning-quick offensive in Kharkiv’s northeastern sector last month since it is a crucial logistical hub exploited by Russian forces in the north of Donetsk.
Following the counterattack in Kiev, the Russian soldiers withdrew to many locations in eastern and southern Ukraine, receiving weapons and missile systems from other nations.

Zelensky: The altercation in Lyman is still ongoing.
