According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, more cities in the Donetsk region would be retaken “next week” by his army, which currently governs the strategically important city of Lyman in the country’s east, as reported by Russia on Friday.
Over Donbas, where the Donetsk region is located, “new Ukrainian flags were erected during this week,” Zelensky reported. Over the following week, more flags will be raised.
Moscow, which announced on Friday that it has annexed Donetsk and three other Ukrainian territories, suffers greatly from the loss of Lyman, which serves as a crucial artery for the railway.
The Ukrainian president continued, “They are starting to attack one another: they are seeking for perpetrators and blaming generals of having failed. It is the first alarm that the Russian government at all levels needs to heed.
The Ukrainian army will retake further Donbass cities, according to Zelensky, next week.
