The United States condemns the coup in Burkina Faso

Following a military takeover in Burkina Faso, France denounced on Saturday night the attacks against its embassy there “in the strongest terms,” stating that the “safety of its citizens” is a “priority.”

Speaking on behalf of the French Foreign Ministry, Anne-Claire Logander told AFP, “We condemn in the harshest terms the acts of aggression against our embassy.” Our teams have been deployed and a crisis cell has been established in Ouagadougou for the safety of our compatriots, which is our top priority.
