Russia admits to withdrawing its forces from Lyman after Ukrainian advance

Russia has acknowledged that its troops left Lyman, a significant town in eastern Ukraine’s Donetsk region.
And today, Saturday, the Russian Defense Ministry declared in a statement that its forces had moved away from the city and toward army-related locations.
Following previous confirmation from the Ukrainian Defense Ministry that its troops had “entered that town, which is an important railway junction in the east of the country,”
She posted on Twitter, “Air attack forces enter Lyman, Donetsk region.”

Thousands of Russian soldiers were being “besieged” in this town in the Donetsk region, which Russia occupied on Friday, according to previous statements made by the Ukrainian army.
According to him, there are between 5,000 and 5,500 Russian forces besieged, though the number may have dropped owing to the deaths of the soldiers who made an attempt to flee.

He also emphasised that Lyman’s restoration will enable Kiev to push to the Lugansk region, which Moscow declared fully under its control at the beginning of July after weeks of halting progress and bombing.
He emphasised the significance of seizing the Lyman because it opens the door to liberating the Donbass by travelling beyond Kremena and Severodonetsk.
