New Corona prevention rules come into effect in Germany

Germany will implement new anti-coronavirus regulations starting on Saturday as the nation gets ready for a spike in cases during the colder months.
The new regulations mandate that ultra-protective masks (FFP2) will no longer be required to be used in aircraft, long-distance trains, hospitals, nursing homes, and clinics.
In accordance with these regulations, guests at hospitals and nursing homes must also present a negative corona test result.

The regulations stipulate that states may continue to require the wearing of masks in restaurants, other enclosed spaces, and on public transit, as well as for testing purposes in schools and nurseries, with the possibility of doing so beginning in the fifth grade.
Germany is already “at the beginning of the autumn-winter wave,” according to German Health Minister Karl Lauterbach, although the nation is better prepared than it was a year ago.

In a joint press conference with the minister of health, Lothar Wieler, the director of the Robert Koch Institute for Disease Control, made a similar judgement and urged care and attention, saying in response that he “does not really have significant anxiety.”
Lauterbach urged the authorities in the 16 German states to keep a careful eye on infection trends so that prompt action might be taken, such reinstating the requirement for mask use in closed public spaces.

According to European standards, the German regulations for corona protection are severe, and the minister claimed that while Germany is not wiser than other countries, it is more cautious.
