European leaders will discuss at the Prague summit ways to protect the bloc’s strategic infrastructure

The protection of the European Union’s fundamental infrastructure following the sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines in the Baltic Sea will be a topic of discussion at the European Leaders Summit, which will be held in Prague the following week, according to European Council President Charles Michel.
Following his meeting with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, Michel tweeted that “sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines is a menace to the European Union.”
“We are adamant about keeping our essential infrastructure secure.

At the following summit in Prague, the leaders will discuss this matter, he continued.
The Danish prime minister also had a meeting with Jens Stoltenberg, the secretary general of NATO, in Brussels.
Gas leaks at four Nord Stream pipeline locations in the Baltic Sea were caused by underwater explosions equating to “hundreds of kilogrammes” of explosive material, according to a Danish-Swedish assessment presented to the UN.

The study went on to state that “all available information indicates that these explosions were the product of an intentional act.”
The NATO Secretary-General emphasised on Friday that allies will protect their critical infrastructure and take part in the continuing investigation to “determine who is responsible for these attacks.

And on Thursday, the heads of state and government from the European Union will convene in Prague with counterparts from 17 nations that make up “Greater Europe” to discuss the issues raised by Russia’s conflict in Ukraine and to officially begin the European Political Group project. After this meeting, the countries of the bloc will gather informally for a summit on Friday.

At the Prague summit, European leaders will talk on safeguarding the bloc’s key infrastructure.
