Arsenal suffers Tottenham’s first loss and clings to the lead

Inflicting his first loss and maintaining their lead in the English Premier League, Arsenal killed two birds with one stone on Saturday by defeating their neighbour and guest Tottenham 3-1 at the start of the ninth stage.
After increasing its total to 21 points out of a possible 24, Arsenal reclaimed first place, while Tottenham dropped to third (17) and suffering their first loss of the year.

After a third of an hour, Arsenal took the lead, but Tottenham promptly tied the score with a penalty kick. The second half benefited the home team, which scored two goals, while Tottenham won the game with 10 players.

The match had a hint of retaliation on the part of the “gunners,” who had lost to Newcastle and missed the chance to qualify for the continental championship for the first time since the 2016–2017 season after Tottenham had taken the fourth and final Champions League qualifying spot from them at the end of the previous campaign after beating them 3-0 three games before the end.

Additionally, Tottenham has lost their last 12 league games in the Arsenal stronghold, especially after 2010.
South Korean striker Son Heung-min joined the team of Italian coach Antonio Conte, while Norwegian midfielder Martin Odegaard and Ukrainian fullback Alexander Zinchenko made their recovery from injuries for Arsenal’s Spanish coach Michael Arteta.

A really brilliant strike from outside the box by Ghanaian Thomas Partey into the left post of French goalkeeper Hugo Lloris gave Arsenal a strong start, which he translated with a goal after 30 minutes (20).

However, the visitors did not take long to enter the game after Brazilian defender Gabriel stopped Richarlison, a striker, inside the penalty area. As a result, the referee awarded a penalty kick, which England captain Harry Kane converted in the style of Panenka into goalkeeper Aaron Ramsadale’s net (31).
In the North London Derby, Kane increased his tally to seven goals for the year and 14 in 18 games (a record).

Gabriel Jesus of Brazil startled Tottenham at the start of the second half by eluding his defender and pursuing a shot by teammate Bukayo Saka that was stopped by Lloris before Lloris mistakenly took it (49).
Emerson Royal, a young Brazilian midfielder for Tottenham, was sent midway through the second half for disparaging his fellow countryman Gabriel Martinelli, which marked a significant turning point in the game (63).

After a team game reached the Swiss Granit Chaka, who fired it forcefully from inside the area to the left of Loris (66), numerical dominance swiftly paid off.

Arsenal defeats Tottenham for the first time while maintaining their lead.
