An official reported that Iranian airstrikes on Saturday targeted locations in northern Iraq’s Kurdistan region, days after a blast there that left 14 people dead.
On Thursday night, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared that it would continue its assaults in Iraqi Kurdistan against Iranian Kurdish opposition groups that oppose the repression of protests in Iran.

Iran has been carrying out periodic attacks in northern Iraq for more than a week. The most brutal attack occurred on Wednesday when more than 70 missiles and drones were used to target Iranian Kurdish resistance organisations in the autonomous region.
According to the region’s counter-terrorism organisation, this blast left at least 14 people dead, including a pregnant woman, and 50 others injured, “most of them civilians, including children under the age of ten.”
The assassination of Iranian Kurdish Mahsa Amini, 22, after she was detained by the morality police, has been the catalyst for ongoing protests in Iran since mid-September.
