The Ukrainian army announces the siege of Russian forces in its stronghold in the town of Lyman

Serhiy Cherivati, a spokesman for the army in eastern Ukraine, stated today (Saturday) that Ukraine had encircled the Russian soldiers around a significant Moscow bastion in the town of Lyman (Saturday).
According to Cherivati, there are between 5,000 and 5,500 Russian soldiers in Lyman; however, the number of the besieged forces may have fallen as a result of casualties among the men attempting to break free of the siege.

Denis Pushilin, the head of the pro-Russian separatists in the Donetsk region, declared yesterday (Friday) that Ukrainian troops are retaking nearby villages while Russian forces are “partially surrounded” in the Ukrainian town of Lyman.
