The operator of the Zaporizhia station: Russian forces arrested the director

The operating firm reported that a Russian patrol had detained the manager of the Zaporizhia nuclear plant in southern Ukraine, which has been under the authority of Russian soldiers since the beginning.
According to Reuters, the Russian military detained General Director Ihor Murashov on his route from the facility to the town of Enerhodar today, Saturday, according to a statement from the Ukrainian state nuclear energy corporation Energoatum.

She further stated that the police removed him from the vehicle and led him in an ambiguous direction while wearing a blindfold.
It is significant that the condition of the massive nuclear plant has drawn attention on a global scale in recent months, particularly in light of the bombing exchange between Russian and Ukrainian forces. In order to prevent a catastrophic nuclear disaster, the International Atomic Energy Agency has frequently expressed concern about the gravity of the situation and called for the creation of a “security zone.”

The largest nuclear power plant in all of Europe, the reactor has been under Russian control since early March, and Moscow and Kiev have traded claims of bombing it for months.
For Ukraine, this facility is a significant source of electricity. More than 20% of the nation’s electrical demands are met by the plant, which is situated on the southern bank of a sizable reservoir on the Dnipro River that divides Russian and Ukrainian forces.

However, as Russian President Vladimir Putin declared, the region became “Russian territory” with the city’s official annexation to Russia yesterday.

The director of the Zaporizhia station was detained by Russian soldiers.
