CAF President officially announces the withdrawal of the organization of the African Nations 2025 from Guinea

Guinea has been rejected as the host nation for the 2025 African Nations Cup due to its unpreparedness, according to South African Patrice Motsebe, president of the Confederation of African Football.
In a news conference conducted on Friday night, Motsebe stated, “Guinea will not host the 2025 African Nations Championship since the infrastructure is not yet ready for this tournament.”

“We have decided to renew the call for proposals for the 2025 championship,” he continued, “despite the huge effort made by the authorities in Guinea, the preparations do not live up to the level of competition taking place there.
The similar situation occurred for the 2019 edition, and Kef was forced to move the venue from Cameroon to Egypt a few months prior to the commencement of the competition.

And according to press reports, South Africa, Algeria, and Morocco are the most likely candidates to host the African Nations in 2025.
The Confederation of African Football announced that President Patrice Motsebe and its Secretary-General, Veron Mosingu Omba, will go to Guinea Conakry today, Friday.

In a statement, CAF said: “On Friday afternoon, President Motsebe and CAF Secretary General Veron Mosengo Omba will meet in Conakry with Colonel Mamadi Domboya, President of the Transitional Phase for Guinea.
Added he, “Dr. Motsebe will speak with the Guinean Football Federation’s management and Dr. Bernard Jomo, the minister of youth and sports, before meeting Colonel Domboya.

It is important to remember that the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations will take place in Côte d’Ivoire.

The organisation of the African Nations 2025 officially announces its withdrawal from Guinea, according to the CAF president.
