It appears that the world will be aware of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s decision to annexe fresh Ukrainian territory.
The Kremlin’s master, US President Joe Biden, vowed that the world would not succumb to him and that Washington would not acknowledge Russia’s annexation of Zaporizhia, Kherson, Donetsk, and Luhansk.
Additionally, he continued in a Friday speech at the White House that Putin cannot annex territory of a neighbouring nation and get away with it.
He went on to say that the war in Ukraine is having an impact on the Russian President and mentioned his counterpart’s recent acts.
When Putin claimed that Washington had sabotaged the Nord Stream gas project, Biden thought he was making up “falsehoods.” He also stated that his country was prepared to defend all of its NATO partners from Russian threats.
It is significant that the US position was released after Russian President Vladimir Putin declared on Friday morning that Donetsk and Lugansk, along with Zaporizhia and Kherson, had been formally annexed into his nation. He also stressed that this matter had been resolved.
Additionally, Putin pledged to reconstruct those cities for the citizens’ peace and safety. He made a point of saying that those people were now Russian citizens.
At the same time, he signalled that he was willing to put an end to the fighting and engage in talks with Kyiv.
Following the lengthy address by the Russian president, the four Moscow-loyal regional leaders signed the annexation orders, annexing more than 15% of Ukrainian territory.
The larger Donbass region in eastern Ukraine is made up of the regions of Lugansk and Donetsk, which have been torn apart by fighting since separatists there proclaimed independence in 2014.
In addition to Lugansk and Donetsk, Russia also gained possession of all of Kherson and portions of Zaporizhia during a ceremony staged in the Kremlin, which prompted anger around the world and total Western rejection.
