A NATO conference was hacked…and Putin’s speech rumbled: Victory is ours

The ratification of the annexation of 4 Ukrainian areas by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a ceremony in the Kremlin on Friday, which provoked a wave of worldwide outrage, consumed the entire world’s attention. Kyiv promised to continue liberating its territory.
In this tense environment, a video of NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg discussing Putin’s decision during a news conference in Brussels went viral on social media.

The surprise came when Dolce Welle, a German channel, interrupted Stoltenberg’s speech to broadcast a footage of Putin proclaiming, “Victory will be ours,” from his annexation speech.
It is interesting to note that Stoltenberg had yesterday criticised Moscow for its “illegal and illegal” annexation of four areas in Ukraine, reiterating that the allies would never accept these regions as being a part of Russia.

After Putin formally approved the annexation of the eastern Donetsk and Lugansk regions, as well as the southern Zaporizhia and Kherson regions, he stated during a press conference in Brussels that Ukraine “has the right to restore these lands that were occupied by force, and we will support it to continue liberating these lands.”

Along with Crimea, which Moscow acquired in 2014, he further stated that “these areas belong to Ukraine” and emphasised that “the allies will never acknowledge these territories as part of Russia.”
These declarations followed Putin’s yesterday confirmation that the annexation decision is definitive and irrevocable. At a concert in Red Square in the heart of Moscow to commemorate the takeover of Ukrainian areas, Putin further emphasised that his nation would “win” the fight with Ukraine.

To the cheers of tens of thousands of his fans, he declared, “Victory will be ours.” He continued, “Welcome to the homeland,” saying that those living in the annexations had “returned to their traditional homeland.”
However, a number of Western nations, particularly the United States and the European Union, expressed their disgust and rejection of the Russian decision.

While Washington increased its sanctions against Moscow, particularly those that affected the military and defence industry.

Putin’s address during the hacked NATO conference roared, “Victory is ours.”
