Russia’s Kalashnikov Corporation announces record sales

After seven months of fighting in Ukraine, Russia’s Kalashnikov Corporation reported record sales for its illustrious assault rifle over the past nearly two decades.
Today, Thursday, Alan Lushnikov, the company’s CEO, declared in the city of Izhevsk that sales of the Kalashnikov rifle had climbed by 40%. He did not give precise numbers for the most extensively sold and utilised weapons worldwide.

The Russian army is the first priority, he said, adding that “ensuring the country’s military capability, especially in the current conditions, is the mission that all the company’s departments focus on doing without fail.”
Lushnikov claims that the rise in sales is also a result of exports.
“This year, our production capabilities have been heavily utilised,” he said.
The AK-103 Kalashnikov, for instance, will be sent to India in 70,000 pieces, according to earlier reports.

According to the Russian arms exporter Rosoboronexport, more than 100,000 Kalashnikov assault rifles of various variants are currently sold overseas annually.
The most frequently used automatic weapon in the world is the Kalashnikov (AK), and versions are produced without Russian consent.
