Washington received a severe blow from its allies in the Pacific Islands

In an effort to gain a foothold in the Pacific island nations at the expense of China, the United States has suffered a stinging blow from its friends, according to the British daily “The Guardian.”
The publication also stated that in response to the United States’ request for a mutual cooperation, the group of Pacific island countries issued a number of demands to Washington.

The “Guardian” reports that a summit between a number of Pacific island countries and the United States took place in Washington at the same time as China’s influence grew, but potential allies were wary of American overtures.
For instance, the Solomon Islands’ delegate confirmed that his nation would not sign the American-supported accord and provided the excuse that it needed more time to carefully consider the American offers.

The US draught agreement, according to the publication, has 11 provisions that force signatories to address the climate crisis in light of the growing geopolitical difficulties.
The US paper is different from the comprehensive Chinese counterpart Beijing had provided to the Pacific countries in that it offered specific dollar amounts, activities, and even the number of Chinese missionaries deployed on cultural exchange tours to the islands.

Beijing plans to work with the aforementioned nations to deepen cyberspace cooperation, create laboratories, train police, and promote regional security cooperation.
Although it touched on economic, security, and environmental issues, the American declaration was of a generic nature and lacked specifics.

The Federated States of Micronesia, the Marshall Islands, and Palau have defence agreements with the United States in exchange for financial assistance, but these nations are wary of the new US proposals.
In light of the climate catastrophe that jeopardises their security, these nations emphasised that they are dissatisfied with the aid that the United States has offered.
