US keeps punitive tariffs on China

The administration of US President Joe Biden has declared the continuation of tariffs imposed by Washington on China under the administration of US President Donald Trump.
In a statement broadcast by Al-Hurra American channel today, Saturday, the Office of the American Trade Representative indicated that the tariffs did not expire on the fourth anniversary of their adoption.

The statement clarified that representatives of local industries indicated that they benefited from trade procedures in various forms, emphasising that this measure assisted in combating unfair competitive practises caused by China’s technology transfer policies and practises, as well as encouraging best policies and practises.
It is worth noting that the first round of punitive customs taxes was implemented in July 2018, affecting $350 billion in yearly imports from the Asian powerhouse.
