With the participation of 93 countries, the African Export-Import Bank holds the African Investment Forum

The African Investment and Trade Forum ACTIF 2022 will be opened tomorrow in Bridgetown, Barbados, with the participation of about 93 nations from across the world.

The forum, which will take place from September 1 to 3, is being organised by the Barbados Government and the African Export-Import Bank Afriximbank in collaboration with the African Union Commission, the African Continental Free Trade Area Secretariat, the African Business Council, the Caribbean Community Secretariat, and the Caribbean Export Development Agency.

The forum, held at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Center in Bridgetown, Barbados, aims to strengthen trade and investment relations. It is an important opportunity for the Caribbean and African business communities to establish new commercial and strategic relationships in order to expand trade between the two regions, as well as to provide the necessary inputs for the design and manufacture of high-value products.

It will promote links between African and Caribbean governments and business.
The forum will be attended by Benedict Orama, President of the African Export-Import Bank. Mia Amor Motley, Prime Minister of Barbados, and Chandrikapersad Santokhi, President of Suriname and President of the Caribbean Community, will start the event, as will Hon Amadou Haut, Minister of Economy, Planning, and International Cooperation of the Republic of Senegal.

The ACTIF2022 Forum helps to improve bilateral cooperation and increase involvement in trade, investment, technology transfer, innovation, tourism, culture, and other areas. The African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) and the Caribbean Trade Development Agenda are also anticipated to benefit from ACTIF2022.

The ACTIF2022 Forum will be held under the theme One Person, One Destiny: Uniting and Reimagining Our Future, with panel discussions addressing key topics on deepening trade and investment links between Africa and the Caribbean, such as accelerating industrialization and industrialization in special economic zones and industrial parks; trade and investment finance; opportunities in the cultural and creative industries; and leveraging the power of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement.

Participants at ACTIF2022 will also witness the introduction of the Africa-Caribbean Trade and Investment Report, which will be attended by over 1,500 persons from 93 nations (48 African countries, 12 Caribbean countries, and 33 other countries).

The African Export-Import Bank hosts the African Investment Forum, which is attended by 93 nations.
