Iranian media: Macron secretly asked Iran to mediate with Russia

Following the announcement of the peace proposal and the transmission of an important message from Tehran to Moscow at the request of a senior European official, the Iranian Students News Agency ISNA claimed today, Wednesday, that this European person is French President Emmanuel Macron.
According to the ISNA news agency, Macron has requested Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to intercede between Russia and Ukraine to stop the conflict.

Mohammad Jamshidi, an adviser to Ibrahim Raisis, recently announced on Twitter that a peace proposal and a significant message are on their way from Tehran to Moscow, and that Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirollahian will carry this message to Russia.

In response, following his arrival in Moscow today, the Iranian Foreign Minister stated: “Some European parties are calling on the Islamic Republic of Iran to assist in the Ukraine issue, help minimise tensions, restore the situation to the negotiation table, and end the war.”
As a result, one of the purposes of my trip is to contribute to Iran’s efforts to help resolve this crisis, he added.

Abdullahian had stated, without naming any specific parties, that some European parties want Tehran to play an active role in the Ukraine conflict.

In this connection, the Russian news agency TASS reported that the Russian Foreign Ministry stated on August 29 that Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will address the nuclear accord with Abdollahian, as well as the situation in Ukraine and matters relating to Syria and Afghanistan. and the South Caucasus

France has been a strong backer of Ukraine in its conflict with Russia, sending substantial supplies of armaments to the Ukrainian army, and Macron visited Kyiv in late June alongside the presidents of Germany, Italy, and Romania, where they met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

According to Iranian media, Macron covertly requested that Iran intercede with Russia.
