Bloomberg: Putin defies the West with one maneuver

By inviting the Chinese and Indian armies to the Vostok 2022 manoeuvres, which are currently taking place in eastern Russia, according to the Bloomberg publication, Putin is challenging the West.
Despite all of the pressure from the West, the newspaper reported that India remained neutral in the Ukrainian crisis. According to Bloomberg, this is a result of the close relationship between Moscow and New Delhi.

The reporters went on to say that when the United States of America invited India as a defence partner and pleaded with it not to thwart international sanctions against Russia due to the conflict in Ukraine, the New Delhi administration sent a military detachment to take part in Russian military drills.

Under the direction of the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces of the Eastern Military District, the Vostok 2022 manoeuvres will take place in 7 training facilities in the Eastern Military District from September 1–7. More than 50,000 soldiers and more than 5,000 pieces of weaponry and equipment will take part in the manoeuvres. 140 planes, 60 battleships, boats, and support ships make up the military.

The Russian Armed Forces will be represented in military command and control bodies, air defence forces, a portion of the Airborne Forces, long-range transport aviation, and military transport aviation, where joint actions will be developed by operational control groups, military units, and observers from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Collective Security Treaty Organization, and other partner countries: Azerbaijan, Algeria, Armenia, Belarus, India, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
