Washington denies evacuating its employees from its embassy in Baghdad

US National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby rejected reports of a continuing evacuation of US embassy staff in Baghdad, Iraq’s capital.
Kirby expressed concern over reports of unrest in Iraq, emphasising that the moment in Iraq has come for conversation, not conflict.

He emphasised that Iraq’s stability should not be threatened, stating that stories concerning the departure of embassy personnel in Iraq are false. There are now disruptions, and Iraqi institutions are barred from operating.

Washington disputes that its staff were evacuated from its embassy in Baghdad.
