The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency announces his departure to the Zaporozhye plant

Rafael Grossi, Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, revealed that he and a team of IAEA inspectors are on their way to the Zaporozhye facility in southern Ukraine, which has been frequently bombarded by Kiev forces in recent weeks.
Grossi tweeted: “The IAEA delegation is on its way to Zaporozhye.” We must preserve Ukraine’s security as well as the security of Europe’s biggest station.
He indicated that the crew will arrive at the location later this week.

The @IAEAorgs Support and Assistance Mission to #Zaporizhzhya (ISAMZ) has arrived. We must safeguard #Ukraine’s and Europe’s largest nuclear facility’s safety and security. I’m honoured to be in charge of this mission, which will take place in #ZNPP later this week. Twitter image

Ukraine continues to reject this expedition, believing that it would legitimise Russian control of the facility in the eyes of the world community, while Russia maintains the station’s safety and readiness to accept any foreign delegation to inspect it.
It is worth remembering that the Russian army controls the Zaporozhye nuclear power facility in southern Ukraine, and its cadres are overseen by a Russian expert team.
